New York, NY- In March 2026, The Office and Professional Employee International Union (OPEIU) Local 153 announced it’s enthusiastic endorsement of David Orkin for New York State Assembly Discrict 38.

The Union’s executive board has proudly endorsed David Orkin. Orkin is dedicated to face serious challenges in his district which include rising rents, unaffordable healthcare and childcare, wage theft, and the terrifying threat of ICE raids. His dedication to these issues align with the values of our Local and our dedication to improving the lives for union members- at work, in the community, and beyond.

Local 153 members are working-class New Yorkers employed in a wide range of industries from health care and nonprofits to higher education and tech. It is clear that Orkin’s campaign fighting for workers and immigrants as well as his experience as a union organizer resonates with the Local 153 rank-and-file members.
