OPEIU Local 153 Proudly Endorses Current Assemblymember Jessica González-Rojas for NYS Senate!

OPEIU Local 153 proudly endorses Jessica González-Rojas for New York State Senate. She has proven to be an effective and progressive legislator in the Assembly and we are proud to endorse her for the Senate. Having been a member of several unions herself, she knows the importance of organized labor and has stood with union members and workers at rallies and picket lines in Queens and across NYC.

We need progressive champions in the State Senate who center working people and working families in all that they do and legislate on. Jessica González-Rojas has a track record of this in the Assembly and we know she will bring this same energy to the State Senate. She has consistently been a champion for childcare, which is something Local 153 members are very concerned about. We need universal childcare for all and to fully fund a budget that supports this. Local 153 is proud to support and be a part of the New York City Central Labor Council’s initiative, New York Union Child Care Coalition, and looks forward to partnering with Jessica González-Rojas on this issue that affects many of our members.

Moreover, Local 153 members look forward to further collaborating on issues affecting the workplace like regulating and reducing AI in the workplace, a labor history curriculum for students, and more!
