OPEIU Local 153 Endorses Brad Lander for NY-10!
[NEW YORK CITY, NY] - Friday, October 16, 2026
OPEIU Local 153 is excited to endorse Brad Lander for Congress in NY-10. A champion for workers, Brad has supported Local 153 workers on the picket line over the years. He showed up on the virtual picket line when our Kickstarter United workers were on the first remote strike in labor history (where they won a 4-day work week in their collective bargaining agreement!). He also supported our workers at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) Workers Union when they were fighting for their first contract (which they have since won!).
As the Comptroller of our city, he supported union members and working-class people. Specifically, he worked with his team to make sure that organizations contracting with the city were respecting their employees’ right to organize if they chose to do so. This was a fundamental part of holding non-profits and other contractors accountable to neutrality in the organizing process. This is incredibly important for workers looking to join the labor movement. Workers deserve to have neutrality in their workplace at the bare minimum. Local 153 is committed to organizing for more protections for workers joining the labor movement for the first time and excited to partner with Brad to do this in Congress.
We look forward to Brad being in Congress where he will advance the PRO Act, fight to make it more accessible for workers to join unions, and support working class people.
